Preselling a product before you create it is usually a good strategy. That way you can determine if there is a viable market before you spend time and resources on developing the product. My friend Ken McArthur (famous for jvAlert, jvAlert Live and his digital watch) has managed to presell his upcoming book so well that a major publisher is making it their headline book this spring. A big advance has been paid, full color ads are being printed, everything for a big book campaign is in motion.
One little hurdle stands in the way: Ken hasn’t yet written the book! Perhaps Ken took this pre-sale marketing idea a bit too far.
I have much experience in writing reports and ebooks so I do know that writing an entire full length book is a lot of work. I would feel under pressure to complete the book if I were in Ken’s shoes. When I try something new that I have no experience at doing, I like to find someone to serve as a mentor. A person who has already been successful at what I am trying to do. To help with his writing project, Ken has enlisted on of the best people in the business, Glenn Dieztel and his team from Awaken the Author Within. Together they are sure that Ken will be able to write a best seller book in just twelve short hours.
Twelve hours for writing 100 pages averages out to about eight pages in an hour, or just about thirty words in a minute. Think about the amount of speed needed to type this fast. Ken not only has to have good typing speed, but needs to have some good thought put into what he is writing. I want to see how this system works. Working at this sort of speed, I could write out at least 10 decent length posts for my blog each day!
Ken has offered an invitation for both you and I to watch as he is writing his upcoming book. You can learn from him the tips and tricks used by Glen to make Ken a record setting author in little time. If you do writing yourself, this could be very helpful and interesting for you to observe. Ken is a giving and generous person, but spaces are limited to watch this process.
